Maud's Story - The Yellow One

An uneventful childhood with loving parents, brilliant studies that made her their pride, a husband, a dog and two children later, at 45, Maud had everything to be happy.

At the head of a pretty SME which allowed her to spend the winter in the sun and the summer wherever she wanted, Maud lived in a bourgeois Parisian apartment whose windows overlooked the Ranelagh gardens.

Her schedule was punctuated by yoga sessions and lunches with friends, and when doubt began to nibble at her brain, she didn't dare talk about it, feeling guilty about her feelings even though she had everything all her friends dreamed of.

And yet the days and nights passed, gradually plunging her into an ever-thickening cloud of questioning and incomprehension about the deafening feelings that gripped her.

Had she really chosen, or had she let herself be carried away and influenced by what she "had" to do, following a pre-defined future?
She wanted to feel the thrill of her heartbeat, when it sounded more like sadness and bitterness than the rhythm of African drums.

Maud arrived at our workshop one autumn afternoon. She was carefully selecting our classic shades when her heart suddenly caught yellow. "I don't know why this color attracts me when I never wear yellow."

I explained to her that Yellow represented the ego, self-esteem, it was the color of leaders, people who wanted to shine on their own and surround themselves with brilliant people. It was also a color that brought clarity, lucidity in her analysis, it was in a way "the light at the end of the tunnel." This color seemed obvious to Maud. It was time for her to see more clearly and use her fabulous resources to consider her life from another angle. Questioning her heart became her priority on each of her decisions, taking back the reins of her existence to become her own guide.
