Today we tell you Claire's story.
After an epic first divorce that had left her exhausted, Claire intended to enjoy her new status as a free woman.
Finding her husband in bed with her best friend in the middle of the afternoon hadn't been the best way to boost her self-confidence. She'd felt "fat and ugly" at the time. She needed to climb back up that steep slope quickly if she didn't want to sink into the abyss of "self-deprecation."
On the advice of her therapist, she had signed up, between two glasses of white wine, on a dating site for senior executives, telling herself that after all, she too might come across a nice surprise, or at least a surprise.
The sadomasochistic, the perverse narcissist, the macho homosexual left her cold when finally, the perfect "match" presented itself to her. It was her first date, and she didn't want to make a mistake with the outfit, let alone the color.
She decided to contact Vannina Vesperini for her expertise in chromotherapy.
Here we present our "GO" and "NO GO" colors for a first date:
The 2 GO colors:
The Rose:
Pink is a way to gently stand out, subtly display your personality, and have a heart-to-heart conversation. Pink represents the heart chakra. This color gives off a sweet scent that makes you want to smell it, to come and land, delicately, like a bee, or rather, in Claire's case, a bumblebee.
Turquoise:
Turquoise sends a message of the need for change, of the desire to travel together to the shores of transparent waters, tanned skin, and sunshine. Who could resist it?
The 2 NO GO colors :
The Black:
Claire was leaning toward her little black dress. It was certainly reassuring, and mostly helped her camouflage herself, which wasn't the point. If she didn't want to appear distant or, worse, invisible, she was suggested to accessorize it well, opting for gold jewelry, a pretty lipstick, or a colorful manicure, for example.
Black is certainly elegant, but it darkens and makes us disappear into a crowd or background. To regain her confidence, she had to choose a true color.
The Red:
If Claire didn't want to be jumped on like a fiery bull on a poor toreador, it was better to avoid it. Or else to touch it sparingly, to remind this stranger that she wasn't against a bullfight but in a second or even third round.
Finally, Claire listened to us. She opted for our Purple Strawberry camisole under our Peony sweater with our black pencil skirt. We agreed that a pencil skirt, even in black, would be sexy yet understated, and that was just perfect!
